“Everyone was understanding and tried to assist me in this difficult situation.”

The HOPE Center, a ministry of People for People, believes that all human life is created by God and has infinite value. Acts413 Ministries is committed to supporting this vital work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

HOPE is a service organization, in partnership with the Christian communities and Acts413 Ministries, committed to dramatically reducing the number of lives lost to or harmed by abortion.

To this end, HOPE provides free, professional and compassionate services to each client rather than engaging in public policy efforts.  Founded in 2009 by Rev. Dr. Herb Lusk II, HOPE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals at risk for abortion make life-affirming reproductive health decisions. They offer alternatives to abortion, promote sexual purity and provide post-abortion counseling.

“The staff was easy to talk to and helped me out on decisions and making better choices.”

“I felt as though the counselor’s known me forever and I could talk to her about anything."

Women aged 20-29 are the most vulnerable to choosing abortion. Because of Philadelphia’s unique concentration of academic institutions and professional opportunities, there is a disproportionate percentage of these women in our own backyard. The HOPE Center is conveniently located in the center of this urban hub, accessible to the students and young professionals who live here.

Furthermore, because abortion providers specifically target low income and disenfranchised African American females, we are committed to reaching out with the love of Christ to this vulnerable demographic in order to reduce the number of lives lost to abortion.

Jim Maxim is on the HOPE advisory board.
